The former cricketer for Zimbabwe, Heath Streak, is still alive. The fast bowler-turned-singer shared another message denying that Streak had died after his old teammate Henry Olonga had blogged about his death. Olonga posted a screenshot of a WhatsApp conversation he had with someone who appeared to be Streak, who said he was “very much alive” and asked Henry to remove his previous update.

“I can affirm that Heath Streak’s demise has been considerably overstated, according to rumours. He just spoke to me. He was contacted again by the third umpire. Folks, he’s still very much alive,” Olonga posted on X.
Several members of the cricketing community, including India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, joined in on the hoax surrounding Streak’s death after it was first shared by a few prominent Zimbabwe websites and Zimbabwe cricket team captain Sean Williams. Along with others, he was accompanied by VVS Laxman, Virender Sehwag, and Anil Kumble. The IPL teams Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Chennai Super Kings also expressed their condolences. Later, they all removed their posts.
