Mumbai: Veteran actress Raveena Tandon recently shared a humorous and heartwarming detail about her daughter, Rasha Thadani, who made her Bollywood debut this year. In a candid interview, Raveena laughingly said that she always believed Rasha possessed the “soul of an old heroine”—a notion born from an amusing habit Rasha had as an infant.
During a recent conversation, Tandon reflected on Rasha’s journey, which began with dreams far removed from the silver screen, such as wanting to become a pop star like Ariana Grande. However, the actress revealed that her daughter’s dramatic flair was evident from a very young age.
“You know, this is funny, but since she was a child, I used to tell my mom, ‘Isme naa kisi purani heroine ki aatma hai, Rasha mein’ (There is the soul of some old-time actress in Rasha),” Raveena shared, cracking up.
She then recounted the charming incident that led her to this conclusion: “When she was a 3-4 month baby, if she used to cry, the minute we picked her up and showed her the mirror, she would stop crying and only keep looking at herself. The minute we moved her away, she would start crying again! I have a video of her watching herself cry in the mirror till she was about seven months old. I used to tell my mom, ‘She’s one old heroine’s soul who only wants to watch her expressions in the mirror all the time!'”
Rasha Thadani, who is the daughter of Raveena Tandon and film distributor Anil Thadani, made her official debut in the film Azaad earlier this year, starring opposite Aaman Devgan. Her performance, especially her dancing skills in the viral song “Uyi Amma,” garnered praise from audiences and critics alike.
The mother-daughter duo recently teamed up for their first professional collaboration, an advertisement for a jewellery brand’s new festive collection, further establishing Rasha’s growing presence in the entertainment industry. Rasha is set to follow up her debut with the romantic action film, Laikey Laikaa, opposite Munjya fame Abhay Verma.
