Bollywood star Akshay Kumar has once again shown that he cares about helping people by promising ₹5 crore to help with flood relief in Punjab. Kumar’s donation is meant to help the communities that have been hit by one of the worst floods in the state’s history.

A Small Act of Kindness in a Time of Trouble

Kumar said, “Yes, I am giving ₹5 crore to buy relief supplies for the flood victims in Punjab,” showing how humble he is. “But who am I to give to anyone?” I feel blessed when I get an opportunity to extend a helping hand. It’s my sewa, my small contribution, for me. I pray that the natural disaster that has hit my brothers and sisters in Punjab ends soon. “Rab mehr kare.”

This act of “sewa” (service) shows that Kumar has always helped those in need, going beyond being a celebrity to show real compassion.

A History of Giving

There is a lot of information about Kumar’s charitable work. He gave ₹25 crore to the PM CARES Fund and another ₹1 crore to Gautam Gambhir’s charity during the COVID-19 pandemic to help people who were affected by the virus. His work with the “Bharat Ke Veer” program, which helps soldiers’ families, is another example of how dedicated he is to national causes.

Kumar has done more than just give money; he has also actively supported social campaigns that focus on sanitation, menstrual hygiene, and the Swachh Bharat initiative. This shows that he cares about the well-being of society as a whole.

Support for Punjab Across the Board

Kumar’s gift is part of a larger effort by many celebrities and groups to get help to Punjab. Punjabi artists like Amy Virk, Shehnaaz Gill, Sonu Sood, Diljit Dosanjh, and Mika Singh have been busy giving out relief supplies and spreading the word. Amy Virk has even taken on 200 villages to help them over time.

The Punjab government says that about 1,655 villages have been affected by the floods. This shows how big the disaster is and how badly help is needed right away.
