Mumbai — In a bold move set to redefine family entertainment in Indian cinema, renowned producer Firoz Nadiadwala has announced the creation of a cinematic ‘Family Universe’. This expansive project aims to bring together beloved franchises such as Hera Pheri, Welcome, Awara Paagal Deewana, and Aan: Men at Work, through sequels, prequels, and entirely new narratives.
The announcement was made on the 115th birth anniversary of Firoz’s grandfather, the legendary producer Abdul Karim Nadiadwala, marking a poignant tribute to the family’s rich cinematic legacy. Firoz shared his vision, stating, “There are cop, horror, and spy universes, but after years of work, we have created a universe of all genres for the family audience. We will make sequels and prequels of Aan: Men at Work, Awara Paagal Deewana, Deewane Huye Paagal, and new editions of the Welcome and Hera Pheri franchises. All the films will be clean and larger-than-life.”
The ‘Family Universe’ is poised to offer a blend of comedy, action, and drama, featuring crossover characters and star-studded ensembles. Firoz emphasized that the films will maintain a wholesome appeal, aiming to entertain audiences of all ages. He further added, “We were the first to make a feature film on the Mahabharat,” highlighting the family’s history of pioneering diverse cinematic narratives.
Industry insiders have expressed enthusiasm about the project, with expectations high for the return of iconic characters and the introduction of new ones. The initiative is seen as a strategic move to capitalize on the nostalgia of classic films while appealing to contemporary audiences seeking family-friendly content.
As Firoz Nadiadwala embarks on this ambitious venture, the ‘Family Universe’ stands as a testament to the enduring appeal of timeless stories and the Nadiadwala family’s commitment to enriching the landscape of Indian cinema.
